IS&S’s Open Architecture Utilities Management System (UMS) controls over 20 + independent federated systems.  It is a versatile unit that monitors aircraft sensors, controls aircraft actuators and allows aircraft manufacturers to configure and program specific applications on a ARINC 653 operating system in an open architecture environment.

Replacing over 20 boxes the UMS allows for weight savings, less wire clutter, improved redundancy (multiple UMS can be installed at OEM discretion) and reduced power consumption in new aircraft design.
